The Anthem of the Heart

                                       The Anthem of the Heart

The Anthem of the Heart is a 2015 Japanese animated youth drama film directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai. The story follows a crisis of a young girl named Naruse Jun, who suffers from social anxiety. She believes that her being a chatterbox broke their family apart and a Tamago (egg) has cast a curse on her making her stomach hurt every time she tries to speak.
Jun is now a high school girl who gets unwillingly picked as a member of a Community Outreach Committee and is supposed to organize a musical with the help of her three classmates. She writes a story based an her own past experiences and creates songs with Sakagami (member of the committee and a classmate) to perform the musical.

The characters are well charted, each having a unique personality.Especially Jun,whose character is stated as "Even when she doesn't talk, she displays exactly what she is thinking."The other characters also emit a specific aura which makes each of them lovable.

The animation quality is simple with minimum complex backgrounds and the voice acting is also great. What catches ones attention is the music and songs. Watashi no koe (my voice), the finale song is beautifully composed with amazing lyrics.
The movie has a narrow target audience, focused towards teenagers, making it less known and underrated, but if understood, its a spectacular movie with many deep emotions.
